Steaming Coffee

Steaming Coffee

written by: Brittany Benko

As I hold my writer’s cup,
I fill it with steaming coffee
I make sure to fill her up
With chocolate, mocha, and ice
I savor the scent that fills the house
Every drop is worth the price
Coffee helps me to start my day
It makes me perform my best
Pushing the grogginess away
Making me feel blessed
There’s many flavors I can buy
From vanilla bean to hazelnut
I have an endless supply
From lattes and espressos,
The temptation I can’t deny
Some say coffee is an addiction
I tend to disagree
The luxury beans warm my heart
I prefer coffee to tea
I simply cannot go without
A caffeinated drink to aid me to go about
