Knowing you’re there
though I see you not.
Your presence infringes
the edge of my thoughts.
I pay no heed
to what you bring.
Devouring your light
makes my blood sing.
Through my veins
your fire spreads.
Ripping and tearing
life into shreds.
Succumbing completely
through darkness I fall.
Knowing all too well
Death comes for us all.
I have always had a love affair with books and am an avid reader. I recently started writing poetry and have fallen in love with it. Expressing myself through the written word is a great release. Sharing my work with others and being welcomed into the communities of other writers is amazing.
