The Final Glow

In evening’s final glow
we sit and watch
the day’s end
and the light show—
resting in the evening’s end
we hope for the new day
our time to begin again.

and wonder what the night knows
and what is around the bend—
at the beginning of a new day
as we begin from our former end.
