The Gate

The Gate

written by: Kaitlin Brothers

Upon the golden forest
A shiny metal gate
Bringing in the beauty around
The boy had met his fate
A wonderful smell, a scent so oceanic
Intoxicating, breathtaking, tropic
But stop: panic
What is this gate
A test of his strength,
For his mind and soul?
A slow reach in,
The seagulls cry,
The world around him done
Finally, taking that step
His journey just begun.
