The Price of Her Wings
written by: Muskan Bansal
The sky was her birthright, to soar was her grace,
But she stood restrained by society’s embrace.
She dreamt of wings that would carry her far,
But the one who broke them was her own guiding star.
Crushed beneath the weight of shame and tradition,
She bore every wound with silent submission.
The very woman this world claims to revere,
Was left dishonored, consumed by fear.
Her silence, stained in crimson red,
Spoke truths of horrors that remained unsaid.
Because of man, humanity was shamed,
And yet no beast—not he—was blamed.
A mother, a daughter, a sister, a bride—
She lived each role with unwavering pride.
But it was her corpse that finally revealed,
How society’s failure was never concealed.
