Waltz in the Magnificent Bloom

Waltz in the Magnificent Bloom

written by: Manpreet Kaur Popli

Seeing you from afar,
The beauty they all spoke of —
The kind that even the toughest hearts
melted like butter upon…
I remember the way you looked at me that summer.

Oh, the way you laugh,
With those cherry lips of yours,
And those mischievous yet dreamy eyes,
The depth I see in them —
like a sea in the sky.

The way you play with your golden curls —
one can only be amazed,
and fancy you from afar.

Oh, the way I feel,
as if coming near you would ignite me into flames.
Like the rose petals you represent,
at least then could I become your ornament,
adding love to your eternal and ethereal beauty.

Remember that day when we danced together?
That waltz in the ballroom I can never forget —
you smiling in a way
that even angels would envy.
Oh, the way we danced under the lustful moonlight,
our hearts beating in sync…
Oh, my lady, how do I tell you that
I love thee more than anything?
