Keswick Gaze

Mountains don’t much notice mortals
But occasionally
The taste of summer’s last blackberry on my tongue
I spat it out
The night too dark and close and cloudy
For overripeness
A summer sat in the back garden until after late night dusk
London understanding only London, I must get out
And now, here
A mountain and a mortal
