Tables Turned

Tables Turned

written by: Maggie Watson

His love
only given
with precondition.
So her tongue he removed
until her soul lay broken.
Submit.
Her life does not matter.
Surrender.
Cracks appear
as she shatters.
The victor takes the spoils.
Years later.
Her voice returns.
Now it is he who recoils.
Tables turn.
And his soul burns.
