Mom On The iPhone

Mom On The iPhone

written by: Lindsay Soberano Wilson

“That mom!”
the mom on the iPhone
the one who neglects the kids
the one who isn’t parenting
she’s paying her bills
booking kids’ medical appointments
cheering up a friend
“That mom!”
the mom on the iPhone
just cleaned house
the kids are playing at the park
and no she’s not playing with them
she’s teaching independence
she’s working on her phone
while they entertain themselves
yes, sometimes,
Mom’s gotta do what mom’s gotta do
and this small picture of her life
does not define her
as you tweet out virtue signals.
