What If Someday Comes?

What If Someday Comes?

written by: Karin Porter

What would happen
If I saw you today?
Are you back in the game
And ready to play?

Would you stare in surprise
Or just walk away?
Would you dare say my name?
If you do, it’s OK

I’d love to see you
But still. I must say
Proceed at your peril
If you walk this way

Whatever it was
That drew you to me
Is tarnished by time
That’s what life’s done to me

Gone is my innocence
Lost is my charm
My smile has faded
I’m old and I’m jaded

Don’t judge me too harshly
I know what I am
But I never knew you
When I got close you ran

If Someday comes
And I see you again
I know I’ll still love you
But what happens then?
