Fragrance & Fragments

Fragrance & Fragments

written by: Ishan Asija

I used the perfume of my big brother,
It has his smell, rich smell, a smell that stays
But he left too early, not stopping for us
To feel him for some more moments

The belongings, he had many of them
Not looking back at any of them
Like a doc drifting away
Leaving the patients hopeless

Yet this scent, circles around me
Like his energy, like he’s still there,
Inside me, repelling all the negatives,
And whispering his secrets,

How richly he lived, how untroubled he was
Not spending a penny, worrying the fate
Just making each day, bigger, larger
And It feels good to be like him…
