Final Edit

written by: Debra Sasak Ross

She edits her life accordingly
Deleting
Unfriending
Removing obstacles along the way
Envisioning a better future
Healing the heartache
That resides in her chest
Hoping one day
To be whole again
Stepping outside the glass prison
The one she built with her own hands
So many years ago
Gazing off into the sunset
Searching for the love
She is sure will find her
She need not pretend
Her first story has ended
It’s time
To begin again
