1. Where, do you hail from?

2. What is the greatest thing about the place you call home?

Living in a rural town has allowed me to know most of the residents and interact with them and their families. Also, living near the Gulf of Mexico, I can spend time on the beaches listening to the gentle waves breaking on the sand, which is a very peaceful experience.

3. What turns you on creatively?

4. What is your favorite word, and can you use it in a poetic sentence?

My favorite word is love.

True love engages all senses, goes beyond death, remains for eternity, and is a beautiful gift from God above.

5. What is your pet peeve?

People who judge, hate, and ridicule others are my pet peeves. I believe we are all unique and special with a beautiful purpose in life, and one of these purposes is to be a helpmate for others by constructively loving and helping them with their goals.

6. What defines Nancy Lou Henderson?

Seeing humor in most things that happen, whether good or bad, plus loving others were gifts God gave me at birth. Finding then marrying my true soulmate, who absolutely loved and encouraged me in all things, gave me true confidence in myself. Knowing true heartbreak and grief when losing that soulmate, but feeling God let him surround me still has given me incredible strength to face all challenges. All of these things have helped to define the person and writer that Nancy Lou Henderson is today.

Nancy Lou Henderson

I was born in Hico, Texas, in 1949 to James and Mary Blakley. In 1968 at the age of eighteen, I married my soulmate, Frank Henderson, in a little Methodist Church in Van Vleck, Texas. Being a firm believer in that anyone can do whatever they set their mind to do, I have taken on many jobs during my life. I have worked in a factory on an assembly line, driven an eighty passenger school bus, owned a Florist Shop, worked as a receptionist in a Doctor's office, and became a certified Pharmacy Technician at the age of fifty. Hobbies include sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, quilting, tatting, but I also do exciting things like plumbing, mowing, weed-eating, roofing, and anything else that might come my way. After twenty-nine years of marriage in 1997, I became a widow and will be a forever widow. Frank will always own my heart, and I will remain Frank's wife for eternity. Just for fun and because of loving humor, I also write Widow's Blogs, laughing at myself and relaying to you instructions of what not to do as a widow. Sometimes, I write blogs about my thoughts on all kinds of things.
