NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Illustration description: A dark picture with subtle clouds visible, like a mist shrouding the image. Pale yellow cutout shapes form the likenesses of 3 owls, 2 to either side and the middle one forward, visible only from the upper body up. The disc of the moon hangs just above this one’s head. The shapes of the art are dropped shadowed as though raised. Each owl stares directly at the viewer. The one on the left looks over its shoulder to the front, its body facing left. The one on the right perches loosely, almost slumped, and regards the front listlessly. The middle owl confronts the viewer directly, wings slightly raised as though considering fight or flight. Created in Adobe Photoshop Elements.
