Under The Dark Wings of The Night

Under The Dark Wings of The Night

written by: Nikshepa Chunchula

It’s been a year
since you left the world
under the dark wings of the night,
I still feel you in the cool breeze
still find your scent
in the corners of the dew drops
still feel your caressing
through my hair
still go to the spot
where you hugged me
from behind
knowing
you are still there
waiting for me.
Under the dark wings of the night,
my eyes never
fail to search
for your soul
my fingertips don’t
stop yearning
for your fingertips,
my heart would
still beat even in
your physical absence
waiting for to become
one in yours.
It’s been a year
since you left the world,
but I still remember
the promise
you took from me
that I would live
my life to the fullest
and wait to meet you
at the doors of heaven.
