A Gift

A Gift

written by: LUZVIMINDA G. RIVERA

You inspired me more than anybody else
To strive for more learning and improve my craft
You’ve shown me how to be competent
And to remain humble despite countless achievements.

Days will never be the same again
Without your friendship in my life
They called you a “star” but I called you “diamond”
Who shines brightly by showing other people’s worth.

Days in this lifetime will never be enough
To show my appreciation of a God-given gift
Perfectly wrapped with overflowing talents and wisdom
Just like “ulassa” that I dreamed of someday.

I know it is too much to request
To please promise me to always be around
No matter how hard it is…
No matter what it takes…
FOR I SHALL DWELL AND WALK IN OUR FRIENDSHIP FOREVER…
