Acceptance

Acceptance

written by: Neha Y. Poojary

In the arena of judging,
Between strangers and peers,
I went wandering,
Through the thoughts of mankind,
To see what they are seeing.

I slowed down my pace,
As I was searching for my place.
Still, they kept contemplating my face,
So I turned away,
As they kept commenting behind my silhouette.

My mind was flooded with a storm of thoughts:
Are these the people for whom I changed?
Lost myself in this phase,
Only and only for the acceptance chase.

I learned my lesson for the validation.
In this world full of biased views,
I stopped searching for my acceptance,
While healing myself from inside out.
