DaraMonifah® Cooper is a mother, student, educator, community activist, poet, graphic artist, musician, and consultant (Conch Shell Media, LLC), on St. Thomas, USVI. She writes as a form of therapy as needed and prefers to wait for inspiration rather than pressuring creative expression. Though her poems have been published locally since assert as Elementary School, she has made no attempts to publish her work as an adult outside of freelancing with the local news media online. She is a University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Communications Specialist, WUVI Station Manager, and Ph.D. student in educational leadership and organizational development within the UVI Creative Leadership for Innovation and Change program. She is also the V.I. Faculty of the Year 2019-2020.
