I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to England some years ago. I fell in love with reading at a young age, particularly horror fiction and fantasy. Inspired by many great authors, my favorites' being Stephen King and Clive Barker, I began writing poetry and short stories. While I’ve been inspired by the beautiful prose and imaginings of many authors, what really made me start writing was need. I believe everyone has a darkness in them, many ignored or perhaps never noticed, and some taken to extremes. But for me, the darkness came through thoughtful introspectiveness, always searching too deeply for meaning in things that may or may not have meaning. Ideas and words, wicked and beguiling, that I could never express out loud. The only way to quell them was by writing them down. Writing them as fiction so that they could never become real, so they never coalesced into something more. Most recently I have self published a fantasy novel.
