James Higgins was born in Texas and lived there and in California growing up. He has been in Oregon for many years now, where he moved after serving in the army. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in English Literature and is a lifelong writer, poet and ping pong player. Recent credits include third prize in one category of the 2024 Oregon Poetry Assn. summer contest.
