Before I Die

Before I Die

written by: Peace Nkeiruka Maduako

I want to see you, some more time,
Before I die.
Rest in your arms, some more time,
Before I die.
Was at the clinic the other day,
Doctor said to me, “Mister,
You only have some more time,
Before you die.”

I want to give all that time to you,
Just before I die.
Let’s walk up the river side again,
Before I die.
Let’s kiss standing in the valley of lilies,
Before I die.
Let’s visit old friends together,
Like we did when we were wed,
Just before I die.
Cause darling I thought about it all,
And I want to give all that time to you,
Just before I die.

We’ll sip hot tea in the morning,
Staring into each other’s eyes,
Like we did when love was new,
Before I die.
We’ll watch old comedies on TV,
Before I die.
We’ll kiss children at the city shelter,
Before I die.
We’ll watch snowflakes fall on Christmas again,
Just before I die.
Cause when I really think of it,
I want to give all that time to you,
Just before I die.
