Bug’s Milk

Bug’s Milk

written by: Luke Andrews

Something you can only make in a sandbox
It takes a special pail with ridges like the top of a castle
It takes magic sand
It takes a special girl who will never know how much she saved me
How much courage she gave me and how she changed me
I wish I had been a better man for her
A better dad, a better business man, a better builder
Because she deserved the best, and boy do I miss her
She’s still here, a little taller, much much older
Wouldn’t want to make bug juice now
That’s not for her anymore
When I see her struggles it gets really bad
Her pain, it makes me sore
I did the best that I could, with the given situation
I truly did, I think I did, I hope I’m not mistaken
For all the nights she heard us fight I hope she found some solace
For all times I lost my patience, I hope I kept my promise
That I’d try and try, to learn and grow, and help her at any cost
It was hard for me to see, her trophies in a box
