Crack the spine
Fuck the mind
Pages burning
Truth confined
Whispers creeping in the dark
Shackle the thoughts
Oh the uneducated masses
The ink’s forbidden
Sealed with a scarlet letter
Knowledge buried
Let’s leave them for dead
Shadows rise and start to preach
Freedom’s out of grasp
Out of reach
Ban the books
Burn the pages
Of thousand voices
Drowned in a war
They fear the power, they fear the pen
No more writing, no more sin
Written lies in hidden places
They control the countless faces
Censorship on every line
Tyrants forcing a twisted sign
Unfashionable fascists
We scream
Our cries unheard
Lost in pages
Lost in words
Hiding in the codes they kill
The ink won’t die, but they will
Blackened pages
They are torn and frayed
What is truth and what’s betrayed?
In the ashes, we will rise
We’ll reclaim those burning skies
Ink will flow
The truth becomes colorful flames
Through the smoke
We will defy
The written word
We’ll stand and fight
