Clearing Shadows

Clearing Shadows

written by: Joan Leotta

Sunlight cannot illuminate
all the world’s dark places.
Even at noon when there are
no shadows, dark hides behind
or under dusty lives,
that leaves only the
shadow of a flame
visible in even
once-bright lights.
Only tears are able to
wash away the dusty
shadows obscuring
the glass panes of truth’s
glass lantern.
