Grandpa’s Love

Grandpa’s Love

written by: Mark Kuglin

Something to take forward
As you sail ahead
Some unexpected ports
Never should you dread

When at your lowest ebb
Tis’nt solid fate
At dock in many forms
Kindred souls await

Let them be your guideposts
They’ll recharge your light
And listen, hold your hand
On your darkest night

Tis fair to warn you though
Kindred comes with cost
Don’t forget your kindness
When you’re feeling lost

Every contrary act
Ripples and alters course
If darkness comes your way
Employ a counterforce

Stay true and hold your ground
With purpose, do not sway
To those without honor
Simply walk away

True family will come running
And respect what you’ve done
They’ll treat you like a gift
A very precious one
