Coffee and Flowers

written by: Robyn MacKinnon

I noticed the flowers

Sunday morning, coffee and

compassion’s warm rain

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Illustration description: An image with a soft, papery texture. Depicted is a cup of something latte coloured, which seems to be floating on a body of water rippling with the drops of rain. A blue flower perches on the handle, and a larger pink flower floating to the right (both flowers are daisy-shaped). Rain falls in the background, rust coloured as though in the morning on a stormy day. The body of water itself is coloured in shades of green and blue. The cup (and saucer) are shades of medium and dark grey, except for the words of the haiku, which appear on the saucer, curved around the bottom of the cup in white Prestige Elite Std Regular font.
