Dracula’s Bride Rants

Dracula’s Bride Rants

written by: Arshi Mortuza

Not to sound thirsty but
I, your unblushing bride, am always here –
Within the darkest chamber of your castle.
Very much a part of you.
Misery is a vampire.
So, sink your teeth into this:
Who is holding who captive?

You have lost, Count
Of how many anniversaries we’ve had.
Of the number of times we’ve put
Each other’s hearts at stake.
It was love at first bite for us –
But I clung on deeper.
Snatching you away from warmth and light.

I have lost, Count
Of all the times we’ve sucked the life
Out of one another.
But never enough to put the
Final nail in the coffin.
