Dwell

Dwell

written by: Kelli J Gavin

Shutting the door
Boarding up each window
Preparing for the dead of night
Enveloping me completely
Pressing in around me
Suffocating me wholly
Preventing me from resting
Resisting all that is dreaded
Overwhelming sense of exhaustion

-Discovering defeat can find me no matter where I dwell

Locating the key for the locked door
Removing all nails and boards
Enabling the light that is so needed to enter
Learning to savor the sunshine
Stretching my limbs and gaining strength
Breathing in deeply
Welcoming joy even in small increments
Resting when necessary
Overwhelming sense of contentment

-Discovering I will thrive no matter where I dwell
