Everywhere but HOME
written by: Yll Brahimi
My heart ice cold,
My house is on fire,
It burned my hope,
My every desire.
Where’s home?
Somebody tell me,
Can it be called home
A place filled with misery?
Days go by,
Faster than you think,
My thoughts don’t make me cry,
I just forget to blink.
In one moment you’re blessed
With no worries, no anger, no pain
Once you leave your nest,
You will never be the same.
Everything has a price,
Nothing is free,
To find my paradise
It cost me time with family.
But even across the ocean
No paradise in sight,
Peace is an emotion,
That this world can’t provide.
I found that out late,
Too late to go back.
Maybe this is my fate,
And I just lost the bet.
I think I know myself
who I am or for what I stand,
Even if it gives me the world’s wealth
I can’t call HOME a foreign land.
