Fall

Fall

written by: Amber Drake

Frost sets the world on fire
Earth Mother curls up to sleep
A slumber so deep it resembles death

The sun no longer greets me as a friend
She glares coldly at me
No longer embracing me with warmth

The faded light of fall saddens me
And I begin to lose my faith again
How can I believe when death surrounds me?

This season was aptly named
I muse, as I fall from grace
With my wings on fire
