Fuzzy Beware
written by: Jackie Shaffer
Planted beautiful yellow lilies in my bed of soil
Lovingly cared for by my hands every morn
Later in the day big gaping holes do appear
As I catch sight of mulch flying through the air
I watch in dismay as he pulls his head from under the dirt
As he defies me all ready to skirt
I scream at brown furry rodent with the long fuzzy tail
Stay out of my flowerbed!
But to no avail
Off he scurries, taking time to turn and stare
As if to say, I’ll be back, and I don’t care.
I will be ready for him next time appears
So he better beware
I better not see him
Not sure how he will fare
