Habit, a poem by Jackie Figueroa at Spillwords.com

Habit

Habit

written by: Jackie Figueroa

One day
One month
One year later –
You still linger in my day-to-day.

Now I find myself
Unable to handle
All these conversations.
All these meaningless jokes.

The saying goes,
“Time heals all wounds.”
So, I haven’t looked away
From the clock.

Much like a habit,
I want to call out to you –
But like the hands of time,
We keep running –
Just past each other.
