NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Illustration description: A dark, nebulous background, speckled as though lit by dim stars. The words of the haiku are spread out over the picture in mismatched collaged clipping letters. Central to the image is a watrcolour-esque rendering of the planet Earth, also speckled from being sprayed with water. Atop this, a tiny stick figure in white acrylic marker performs a handstand. A bit up and right from the planet sits a shadowy, greyish orb suggesting the moon, the top of which is hidden behind the letters D and S in the word “handstand”.
