Her Nutcracker

Her Nutcracker

Your nutcracker, a solider,
is now stationed
above the fireplace,
with the auburn-gold amber’s
torridness caressing
his rosy cheeks
and white beard and hair.
Ebony boots stand
behind the mantle’s pine garland,
with his sword concealed
within the pine needles,
waiting for the Mouse King.
Claret jacket with gold thread and buttons,
intrigued and sophisticated,
like a Christmas tree shawled
in ornaments and garland,
decorate his valiant nature.
When holding his wooden hands,
you both, in a sugar plum pipedream,
perform your ardent, thaumaturgy wintry ballet.
Your nutcracker Clara, remains since December.
