I Await

I Await

written by: Ernest Federspiel

As I sit on this beach in the Caribbean sunshine
I await the special season filled with joy and peace
Travelling around the globe I claim what is mine
I actively seek chaos and promote its increase

Santa shares the nighttime sky, unaware I am here
I follow him on his excursions, dancing in the snow
My job is satisfying, I only work one night each year
Destroying dreams of happiness with a single blow

Lights adorn the houses as I crept into shake the tree
Unwrapping all the presents to see what I want to take
If I get in front of Saint Nick I drink the milk with glee
And then I terrify kids in their dreams until daybreak

I have no need to hide, I walk around with no disguise
Each year gets a little easier for me to enjoy what I do
Traditions evolving, the fun of Christmas is in demise
Now is the time for Krampus to show my face to you
