If You Could Hear Me

If You Could Hear Me

written by: Phoebe Moretti

I miss you, in ways that words can’t hold,
in moments that stretch too thin without you here,
a constant ache, a hollowed silence
that I carry close, every day, every tear.

I miss the sound of your laughter,
the warmth of your gaze catching mine,
and the comfort of knowing you were there,
somewhere just beyond the reach of time.

I miss you like breath, like a heartbeat,
a rhythm that used to make sense,
and now I stumble, caught off-balance,
lost in an emptiness, raw and immense.

I miss the way you knew me,
the pieces no one else sees,
now I’m just a version of myself,
stripped bare, missing parts, left to freeze.

If you could hear me, if you could see,
the way my world is dull without you near,
maybe you’d come back, even for a moment,
to fill this quiet with something clear.

But I’m still here, waiting in whispers,
holding onto ghosts that don’t stay,
missing you in every unspoken word,
lost in the spaces you’ve taken away.
