In Vein

In Vein

written by: Vidya Venkataramanan

The veins on the leaf,
Did speak
Of weathering storms,
Of weathering wind
And rain
And a possible hail!
Widening its endurance,
Hanging by a thread,
Nurturing three buds
That bloomed all of a sudden
In the garden bed!

The veins on the leaf
Did speak
Of sunshine and laughter,
Of love and happily ever afters!
But in every garden
Some rain must fall,
And so it did
To make us stand tall!

The veins on the leaf
Did speak,
That nothing is always bleak,
Just take a peek,
At the flowers behind me,
Faith always blooms
When hope droops,
And shines the light
Of resilience,
That clearly defines the veins,
That Grace chartered
The Way Home.
