In the rest room
Glance in the mirror
Who is this person
Do I know her?
Seems familiar
Mind closes curtain
Leaves me confused
Am uncertain
Perhaps a friend?
Reach out
Trace her features
Lingering doubt
She is weeping
I wipe her tears
Lips move in thanks
Memory stirs
Is that me?
Why am I crying?
I am frightened
No denying
My daughter appears
Face etched in sorrow
Holds out her arms
Like a child I burrow
