three years ago
all gripped by the Ukraine invasion
pain of a nation, plight of many, pity doesn’t end war
three years ago
a nation rose up as one, defying all odds
celebrate what they did, caliber of bravery, calculated cool planning
three years ago
we have All learned to fear more the known, more than the unknown
raise a glass to all – Ukrainians – democracy – freedom
three years ago
introduced us to real heroes, real leadership, deep bravery
may always sunflowers, kindness, compassion,
Always Ukraine.

Born and raised on the prairies of Manitoba Canada, along the Red River and just south of Lake Winnipeg. Then Alberta and ten years in the Rockies, just above Montana. The last decade in the Canadian Gulf Islands. People, ideas and stories set the stage of my poetry and writing. Music and art fill my days and verse fills my head. I feel the fortunate one and share this world with my life partner.
