More Tea

Absently I pour the tea, fill two cups and place them on a tray,

steam rising. I hesitate, then angrily pour one cup away.

I forget, over and over, more tea will not revive you.

Denise D'Souza lives with her husband in Surrey in the UK. After graduating with a BA in English, she worked in publishing. She was voted Spillwords Author of the Month in June 2020.
