Mouse in a Melody

written by: Robyn MacKinnon

Possibilities

with my cat, hunting a mouse

in a melody

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Illustration description: A black and white image of the neck of a guitar, close up and flat, so that it tapers into the distance. Sheet music seems to be superimposed over the background. The foreground is occupied by a tabby cat, sitting on the comparatively giant guitar neck and seemingly backed up by gradually fading copies of itself. The cat seems to be regarding the viewer, instead of the mouse practically right in front of it, which seems to be making its way along the G string. The words of the haiku occupy the middle right side of the image in undulating, white Times New Roman Regular font outlined in black.
