On a Starry Night

On a Starry Night

written by: Debby Hackbarth

As Christians, we celebrate Jesus’s birth in many ways.
Families gather to feast and share special times.
Children shout with glee as they open thoughtful gifts.
Groups sing carols throughout the neighborhoods.
Most importantly, we gather at our favorite places of worship.
Those present at the birth of Jesus were filled with awe and wonder.
Humble shepherds approached the manger with caution.
Wise men from the east traveled with anticipation.
The world was changed that day for every human.
Through His birth, we have hope of eternal life.
We should not only rejoice for the following twelve days.
We should dance, leap, and play instruments throughout the year.
Jesus left Heaven and came to Earth on a starry night to save us all.
