Our Anniversary Poem

Our Anniversary Poem

written by: Anuska Bag

I miss him a little more
when it is freezing outside
I yearn for his presence
a bit more when the temperature
drops below ten
So I close my eyes and try
to remember everything
that is still left with me
everything I have gathered
little by little
I can almost feel his face
against my cold fingers
I can almost trace
the bend of his nose
the warmth of his ears
the roughness of his stubble
the edge of his forehead
the soft glow of his lips
I feel my little heart
thumping a little harder
as I almost perceive
his heavy breaths
against my shoulders
I open my eyes at the rush
of a sharp cold wind
I search for him
in the stillness
It is very cold and perhaps
I am stuck
in my mind
in his territory
