Perfect Day Sonnet

Perfect Day Sonnet

I dream a dream of a wonderful day
that’s magical, mystical, chock full of
fun, where all good things are going my way
from the ground below to the skies above.
A day when everyone feels okay,
and no one I love’s been hit by a car,
and my grandkids all come over to play,
and the bills don’t pile up to the stars.
A day when sonnets are easy to write,
and syllable counts don’t matter at all,
my poetry friends will say that it’s great
no matter how silly, how big or how small.
Oh, how I dream of that one perfect day,
Please let it happen before I decay
