Poor Man’s Curse

Poor Man’s Curse

written by: Billy Logan

How can they understand what’s going on in the mind
The pain and hunger of a poverty born child
And ‘cos they don’t understand or it ain’t hidden by wealth
They put it down to their mental health
Now just a few fingers are willing to point the blame
But a million tight lips keeping a nation’s shame
Rich politicians breaking the law
Cold hearted bastards who choose to ignore
The children being schooled with hunger pains
Dreaming of escape through money and fame
A single mother trying to do her best
Fighting to survive but drowning in debt
From a poor family a young child dies
Though the loss was felt nobody cried
So let them without sin cast the first stone
Stood in a crowd but feeling alone
Then those who judge should be judged first
And sentenced to the life of a poor man’s curse
