Quenched

Quenched

written by: Jan Niebrzydowski

Perpetual sacrificial drought of heart
Leading me into a jagged cavern’s ledge
Has broached an unpredictable outlier
Appearing with scintillating split light
Amorous sputtering’s twisting full vigor
Forcefully interrogating my unwilling spirit
Transcending expectations to fragrant peaks
Arriving simultaneously at a shivering height
Blossoming into unfeigned lover’s blush
Awaited…but escaping tangible
Until now
Together we trespassed into Providence
Gathering essence of unknown conspirators
Basking in gardens flush with edible pulp
Alive, alive, we have breached the solitary
Embracing all things with virgin tender hands
Interlocking
Seizing the wisp of forever with grateful hearts
Transcending the imagined
Living in the tender arms of Nirvana
Succulent green
