Ruin Made Me

Ruin Made Me

written by: Yukta Phoenix

Crashing or collapsing, I don’t know if I’m stabilizing,
Breaking or making, it’s only now I’m realizing.
I broke so light could fill me up,
Snapped just to glow in the dark.
Strong, ‘cause I had to be my own backup,
Scarred in my soul, carrying marks.

A survivor, through and through,
Even after—like fire, I blew.
A loner, sad… but I’m all I’ve ever got.
A phoenix, rising from ashes—
Even when every hope, dream, and expectation crashed.

A hero—‘cause I saved my own life.
Or a villain—‘cause I ruined it just to stay alive.

I’m beautiful—
not despite, but because of the ruin that’s mine.
