Sobering Reality

Sobering Reality

written by: Cindy Georgakas

We fire assaults.
In the distance,
I hear firing.
Words like weapons,
can wound the heart
of desire.
Bullseyes backed
in lies
while too many die,
left in blood baths
of sorrow.
Heartbroken,
we color our world with
painted visions,
to combat the enemy.
What if you’re the enemy
In disquie?
A sobering reality that can’t go
unrecognized.
Complicity is complacency,
a cold hearted reality.
Empty shells
are part of the same crime
as one who pulls the trigger.
