NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Illustration description: A black background. The words of the haiku sit topmost and centre in white Brush Script Std Medium font. Directly below this rests a series of shapes creating an abstract figure, resembling a swaddled infant lying on their side. The swaddling is represented by an uneven, soft-cornered, horizontal zigzag, blending from yellow to orange to red from left to right. The infant’s head is a black circle with 2 comma shaped white lines, representing closed eyes. Their head glows, and a white crown of jagged spikes frames the arch of their head.
