Smile, a huge energy,
it’s innate and free,
it works wonders for those
who understand its powers.

It is a master key,
unlocks all,

it is a white light,
dims distractions around focus,
gives vibrant colors,

makes it possible for all things
to grow and glow,
good or evil.

The universe has the sun,
we humans have the smile.

The Ibibios say,
“Owo asisasak nnaneyen”
(man laughs at tribulations).

Start with a smile,
you end with a smile.

Everyone got pain behind a smile,
everyone got fears behind a smile.

You will see the brighter side of trouble,
if you smile.

Circus filled to the brim,
a clown offers nothing
but a smile.

Help stands afar,
a frown will isolate you.

Solo,
man can do little,
bright future awaits
those who mingle,

Together,
men are marvelous.

I smile, you smile, we smile,
the world becomes brighter.
